You are receiving this e-mail because, according to our records, you have, in some way, previously indicated an interest in the ongoing Community Collaborative Group (CCG) process through which Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks Department is considering changes in the way in which it manages the City's mountain backdrop.
In response to citizen complaints we've reconfigured this mailing list on an "opt-out" rather than a "opt-in" basis. This means that if you don't want to receive any more e-mails from this list you need to click on the unsubscribe link. (When we had previously asked people to affirmatively subscribe (opt-in) to this list, we got a great many complaints from people who had somehow missed the opportunity to subscribe.)
This e-mail mailing list and associated web site has been developed in response to criticisms about the way in which the Neighborhood Representatives to Boulder Open Space and Mountain Park's Community Collaborative Group process have solicited and handled public comments on proposed changes to the way that Boulder manages West TSA (the area south of Linden, north of Eldorado Springs, and west of Broadway).
The website provides a much improved mechanism for incorporating public insights into the larger planning process (which is considering significant and sometimes quite controversial changes to the way in which these lands are administered).
This inaugural posting is formally asking for public comment on in five key topic areas: mountain bikes, dog management, neighborhood protection, trail system changes, and environmental protection.

Subsequent e-mails will ask for public reaction on other issues and on more specific proposals. These e-mails will also include revised deadlines for submitting your comments. We will be especially interested in your reaction to a proposed plan for representing the neighborhood's interests (that we will be putting together in the next month or so based on everyone's comments).
We will also try not to burden those on the list with too many e-mails. If you want more frequent updates you can go to the above website and the OSMP CCG website which contains a wealth of information and is the primary record of the proceedings.
