Decision Making Criteria

The CCG is a consensus process. Its goal is to put together a plan for managing the West-TSA that does the best possible job of balancing the interests of OSMP's many constituents. It is not a majority rule, "winner take all" process in which those with the most "votes" get what they want and those with fewer votes "lose out."

Our focus is on finding compromises that do the best job of simultaneously protecting and if possible advancing everyone's interests. Still, we recognize, that there are situations in which mutually agreeable compromises do not exist. In such cases hard choices are going to have to be made. In making such decisions, we will give more weight to the views of those who are directly affected by a particular decision. We will also give more weight to the views that are more widely and deeply held. Still, we want to minimize the degree to which anyone is disappointed with the outcome of the CCG process.

This comment site will be used to help us gauge the sentiments of our constituents and, hopefully, identify compromise strategies. We encourage everyone to tell us what you're thinking (even if you simply say that you agree with someone else's comments). And, we encourage you to respond constructively to the views offered by others (and especially compromise ideas).

After gathering comments for the next several weeks, we will put together a proposed plan for representing the neighborhood's interests. This too will be posted for comment on this website before it is formally presented to the CCG.
